BUTTER THAN NOTHING
During winter break of my sophomore year, I began making cakes for friends and family, and I returned to Tulane that spring with a small business venture in mind. Over the past few years, I've sold cakes for sorority events and welcome home parties, to professors and colleagues, and I've even submitted a cake as part of a job application!
My process for creating the cakes is surprisingly architectural; I like to draw the cake and the ingredients in plan and section to determine the structure of the layers. Creating these cakes has been a fun and fulfilling way for me to let my creative side relax and step back from the sometimes regimented and defined architectural processes.
